The NYU Review Asked Students About the 2025 NYC Mayoral Election and Here’s What They Told Us
The NYU Review spoke to students from across the university about the 2025 NYC Mayoral Election. Students described each candidate in one word and explained their ideal candidate for mayor.
The results show a divided campus, with students describing Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa in contrasting lights. Some reffered to Mamdani, the apparent frontrunner, as “intelligent” while others called him a “liar.”

Regardless, passions are high, as students express their concerns and enthusiasm for the city’s top three candidates. Campus demonstrations could follow as the results trickle in. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis.
